To Quote Metallica - 'Sad but true'

This morning was typical, I woke up at about 7:20, got up at about 7:35. Felt sick as usual, got ready for the day. Rushed out the door to work. On the way to work, I decided I needed something to eat, thinking that it might help my stomach, I got a Sausage biscuit, and a diet coke. When I got to work one of the sales guys brought in Rudy's breakfast tacos so over the course f the morning I ate, two... Bummer. Then for lunch I went to BK with another guy and I had a cheese burger, fries and two tacos. Then we went to a movie with the family and I had some licorice, then we all went to dinner at Rudy's and I had an assortment of meat, and cream corn... I think at some point I had some M&Ms too. MAN! its no wonder I am HUGE!

When you write down what you eat its a little embarrassing. OK a lot embarrassing. Hopefully this will help in my quest.

Joshie,
I just found your blog tonight off of the family one. Anyway, I also have many of the same feelings you do. You are an inspiration to me and I want to try to be better with my food intake and my exercise. It is a constant battle but one I know that can be fought and won eventually! Keep up the good work.

Hi Josh...

Man, it is easy to get down on one's self isn't it.. and yes, it is overwhelming to write down everything you eat in a day - Actually, it can be down right TERRIFYING! LOL! Do you wake up feeling sick every morning? You may actually have low blood sugar in the morning... What works for me - as I have the same problem with morning nausea - is eating protein first thing and NO carbs. A hard boiled egg, a scrambled egg, something along those lines, and within 5 or 10 minutes, the nausea subsides and I actually feel a bit energetic. (Of course, being the heathen that I am, I also add at least 2 cups of black tea to my breakfast table for an added boost of ENERGY!) LOL!

Keep at it Josh - you are inspiring me to do the same. I am really working on cutting all bad carbs from my diet and on those days I am successful, it's amazing how much better I feel.

Thank you for the tips and encouragement.
I substitue black tea for diet coke, its black...

Just a suggestion. I drink a v-8 juice every morning with 2 cayenne capsules dumped into it. You may like even more cayenne than that.
It is a great way to start the day.
Team that with a boiled egg and I am good to go.
I actually drink that same thing 2-3 times daily.
(P.S. The tomatoe juice is extremely important for prostate health.) Not that that helps me. But it will you.
The avoidance of sugar is pretty important as well. Which makes it really hard for me because I love to bake bread, rolls, and cinnamon rolls and Maple bars.
And I love an occasional "Midnight" milky way.
It used to be that when Dad and I had Rib-Eye stake (our favorite) that we would eat the whole thing. No matter how big. So now we only allow ourselves 1/2 stake at a time. We do feel better about that. Not that it is helping our weight loss right now. But we keep trying. The chemo has had such an adverse effect on Dads metabolism that it is almost extinct.
There is also evidence that artificial sweetners keep us from losing weight too.
It seems as though the natural sugars in fruits and vegetables is the key.
Daddy and I eat almost no Pasta, rice or bread. (unless I have to teach a bread class at Y.W.) Like this week.
We very rarely eat cake, cookies or pie.
Actually our diet is pretty boring.
Just wish I could loose again. Man it is hard.
We need inspiration. Keep up the good workLove Mom
