Again, I have put this off long enough....

Wow lots has happened since the lat time I posted anything up here. Not for a lack of wanting to or a lack of things that are interesting to me, but for the simple fact that I have not taken the time.

When I first started this thing it was supposed to be to track my thoughts and how my weight loss goals were going. I will continue to do that, but I am going to also try and put some fun things in here as well. The intent of the one is both.

There is a list of things that are unique to Austin, and I have been keeping a mental check list things to do while here. It includes things like see a band on 6th street, go to the Alamo (not in Austin, but close enough that its a must see) . See a taping of Austin City Limits, eat copious am outs of Texas BBQ, ride/run/walk around Town Lake, and swim in Barton Springs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barton_Springs_Pool) to name a few. Most of which I had accomplished. While I had been to Zilker Park, where the magical Barton Springs (natural spring swimming hole that is about 65 degrees year round) is, I had never taken a dip... One day a friend and I were discussing New Years Day and I am not sure who brought it up, or where the idea came from be we decided to go for a swim on New Years Day. So 9AM New Years Day, Joe, Cody, Hailey, Benson and I went for a swim in Barton Springs. It was great and cold but we had a fun time and a very invigorating start to the new year.

Since then we (Joe and I) went for a ride around town lake and another swim in Barton Springs which was great. This sort of leads me to the next part. Like most folks I have set some lofty goals for the new year. Eric the Great, has forged the lead on a weight loss plan and I have to say he is an inspiration to me. I have told a few folks about it but am not sure I am going to tell everyone yet. But stay tuned. I know I can do it. And my health will improve and it will be awesome...

Some other fun things that have happened is that we went to San Antonio and met up with some friends from The U, who are now located in SA. We had a great time and it was so fun to see them and their kids. We have both added kids to our families, but they all seemed to get along and what a fun time we had.
